It's funny because the second picture is also depicting the Chosen Undead, albeit in his Soul of Cinder incarnation. Which the Ashen One defeated. The Soul of Cinder incarnation is made from souls vastly weakened over hundreds of years. Among their most notable feats are defeating a demigod who basically holds up the sky and prevents stars the stars from falling, another who holds the power of Destined Death, an actual literal I'd say the Tarnished easily comes out on top by the end game.
